17 subjects from IGCSE to A Level
Years 8 and 9 build the foundation. From Year 10, choose them with your child’s destination in mind.
Three compulsory subjects, three free choices, and Personal Mastery
English First Language, a second language (French, Afrikaans or Arabic) and Mathematics are compulsory. Your child freely chooses three more, and Personal Mastery is included in every package.
For South African families, this core automatically meets the USAf two-language and group requirements for university exemption.
IGCSE | 17 subjects
Compulsory core on enrolment: English First Language, a second language, Mathematics.
AS & A Level | 17 subjects
We don’t offer Further Mathematics. In most cases a top grade in Mathematics, plus the right admissions test, satisfies universities that ask for it.
How to choose IGCSE subjects
Start with the career your child is aiming at, and work backwards from there.
Keep options open. Dropping a science is easy, picking one up later isn’t.
Include at least one subject your child actually enjoys.
Check the entry rules for the country where they may study.
Six strong subjects will serve them better than eight average ones.
Medicine: Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics. Engineering: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry. Computer Science: Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics. Commerce: Mathematics, Accounting, Economics. Law: English, History, Economics. Every plan is confirmed by the Head of Department at placement.
